The Stage Is Set For the 12th Annual Art in the Park Celebration

One of the Gulf Coast’s most unique art shows is back. The 12
th Annual Art in the Park brought to you by the Pensacola Museum of Art will take to the beautiful setting of historic Seville Park next Saturday and Sunday, May 17th and 18th.
Art in the Park, a juried arts festival featuring over 120 local and national artists, will have booths that feature a wide variety of media including ceramics, photography, jewelry, sculpture, painting and more. Participate in children’s hands-on activities or enjoy demonstrations of various art media or just try some of the best cuisine the city has to offer.
Artists are chosen for participation by a selection committee. Along with the honor of displaying their best pieces, artist will be awarded prizes to be presented at the VIP Artist Party on Saturday Night. Prizes include Best of Show ($1,500.00), 1 Award of Distinction ($750.00), 4 Awards of Excellence ($500.00), and 3 Awards of Merit ($250.00).
This year Art in the Park will once again provide extended offerings including the addition of 25 artists, on-site cooking demonstrations, live music, and the featured attraction – 3
rd Annual Art Cars. Art Cars are street-legal vehicles that have been permanently transformed into mobile sculptures.
Last year’s art car show was a big success, drawing not only visitors from the festival but art car fanatics from across the Gulf Coast. Some of the perks for participating in Art Cars include
•Mileage reimbursement (while funding available, 50 cents per mile, up to $600 per art car)
•Discounted hotel rates
•2 Tickets to the Artists’ Party at the Museum of Art on Saturday night which includes free food and libations;
•Ability to sell your own artwork (** art must reflect the spirit of your Art Car**)
