Drive-In Movie Nights Are Back, and Full Of Adventure This Summer

Everyone’s favorite summertime blast from the past is back! Sit back and relax as you and your family enjoy a classic drive-in movie experience at the Hill-Kelly Drive-In Movie Series Presented by Cox Communications, beginning Friday, May 30
th from 8:30 to 10:30 pm at the Vince J. Whibbs Sr. Community Maritime Park.
This nostalgic movie night brings our love of family friendly movies and the great outdoors together for an experience that has long been forgotten. Enjoy great concessions and treats, check out some awesome automobiles on display from Hill-Kelly, all while you enjoy a great new release movie parked right on the grass.
Kicking off the summer movie series on Friday, May 30
th is Disney’s #1 animated hit ‘Frozen’ where fearless optimist Anna teams up with social outcast, Kristoff, in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.
Then on Friday, June 27
th, catch the DreamWorks classic, ‘Mr. Peabody and Sherman’, the time-travelling adventures of an advanced canine and his adopted son, as they endeavor to fix a time rift they created.
On July 18
th, it’s on in the Amazon as Rio 2 hits the big screen. It's a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three kids after they're hurtled from Rio de Janeiro to the wilds of the Amazon. As Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets his father-in-law in a hilarious adventure that will leave you singing and dancing your way home.
Closing out the summer drive in movie series on Friday, August 29
th is The Lego Movie, the lovable adventure where an ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied 'Special', is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis.
Admission to the movies is limited. When the grass field is full, families will be invited to parking in the parking lot and enjoy the movie seated on the grass. If you choose to park and view the movie from your vehicle, please be aware of all parking attendants and police officers and follow their instruction for your safety and theirs.
Families planning to park and watch from their vehicles need to arrive at least an hour before the movie begins. Parking begins at 6:30 pm and movies begin around 8:30 pm. Chairs, blankets, and coolers will be permitted, but keep in mind that food and beverages will be on hand for sale during the event.
