Children’s Home Society of Florida Announces New Executive Director for the Pensacola Region

Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS) has named Lindsey B. Cannon executive director for the Pensacola region serving Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties. Previously the region’s director of program operations, Cannon succeeds Tim Putman, who held the position for five years.

Cannon brings to her new role more than a decade of experience in counseling and family services. Throughout her career, she has delivered exceptional service to Florida’s kids through mental health, mentorship and foster care services.

Cannon has both front-line and supervisory experience in family services and is renowned for her focus on ensuring families receive the highest quality of immediate care. She has worked closely with local top child advocates to develop and implement new programs. As director of program operations for CHS, Cannon was been instrumental in local needs assessments and implementation of family services including innovative and evidence-based solutions for kids, teens and families.  She has also contributed to service provision in Escambia County’s first Community Partnership School.

“I remember the first time Lindsey came to speak to the Board of Directors. Her passion and enthusiasm for children in the Western Panhandle was apparent. She remained committed to that passion in her role as director of program operations,” said local CHS Board Chair Pamela Schutzmann. “We are thrilled for the future of Children’s Home Society of Florida as Lindsey moves into the role of executive director for our region.”

In collaboration with statewide and local community partners, CHS is working upstream to reshape the future for children in the Western Panhandle, empowering them and their families to find and build upon their strengths, to rise above the challenges and circumstances they face, and to open doors to opportunity.

“I am truly honored to lead the CHS team serving Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton Counties,” said Cannon. “Throughout my career, I’ve never seen a more committed and amazing staff. I look forward to guiding them on a journey of delivering innovative solutions and quality service for children and families.”
