April 28, 2025

The College’s District Board of Trustees will vote on the fee changes at the Tuesday, June 17, meeting set for 5:30 p.m. on the Pensacola campus. If approved by the Board of Trustees, the new fees will take effect for the Fall 2025 Semester.

Matriculation Fee to Application Fee
Pensacola State College’s matriculation fee is a $30 fee assessed for processing the College’s application. The matriculation fee includes the cost of application processing in addition to a variety of costs, including external credit and fraud evaluations, transcript evaluations, student orientation, placement exams, and associated items necessary for initial enrollment. The matriculation fee is currently assessed upon admission and is due when fees for the first class are due. The lack of an entry application fee has made admission to the College a no-cost financial aid fraud opportunity for fraudsters. To reduce the number of fraudsters, the College recommends changing the timing of the fee collection to before the application and changing the name of the fee to an application fee to reflect that change.

● ATE 1110L – Animal Anatomy and Physiology Lab lab fee increases to $62 from $52.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies.

● ATE1650C - Introduction to Clinical Procedures lab fee increases to $252 from $223.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies.

● ATE 2634L – Small Animal Clinical Procedures III lab fee increases to $316 from $285.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies.

● DEH 1002L – Dental Hygiene Pre-Clinic lab fee increases to $256 from $153.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies. Some materials that are currently required for students to buy externally are being incorporated into the lab fee. The College can buy the items in quantity cheaper and without sales tax, lowering the cost to the student.

● DEH 2804L – Dental Hygiene Clinic III lab fee increases to $525 from $265.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies. Same as above.

● DES 1200C – Dental Hygiene Radiology I lab fee increases to $135 from $50.
Reason: Increased cost of supplies. Same as above.

Mathematics and Computer Science
● CGS 1061C – Intro to Computers in Technology lab fee increases to $97 from $25 and course distance learning fee increases to $97 from $0.
Reason: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers for students. CompTIA Tech+

● CIS 2530 – Intro to Cybersecurity lab fee and course distance learning fee both decrease to $0 from $84.
Reason: Lab fee no longer needed.

● CIS3122C – Cybersecurity Analyst course distance learning fee increases to $262 from $254. The current lab fee is to remain the same at $262.
Reason: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers for students. CompTIA CSYA+, CSO-003

● CNT 3421 – Securing the Cloud lab fee increases to $178 from $168 and the course distance learning fee increases to $178 from $36.
Reason: Update Lab/DL fee to pay for industry standard certification vouchers for students. CompTIA Cloud+, CVO-003
