NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of the intention of the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County, Florida to hold a Public Hearing that has been rescheduled to be heard on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at 5:50 p.m. in the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, Board Meeting Room, First Floor, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida, to consider the following:

 

AN ORDINANCE OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING PART II OF THE ESCAMBIA COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES, THE ESCAMBIA COUNTY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: 2030, AS AMENDED; AMENDING CHAPTER 7, “THE FUTURE LAND USE ELEMENT,” POLICY FLU 1.1.1, TO PROVIDE FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2030 FUTURE LAND USE MAP, CHANGING THE FUTURE LAND USE CATEGORY OF A PARCEL, WHICH IS LOCATED WITHIN SECTION 19 & 20, TOWNSHIP 3N, RANGE 31W, AND WHICH IS IDENTIFIED AS PARCEL ID NUMBER 20-3N-31-3201-000-000; TOTALING 185.88(+/-) ACRES, LOCATED ON HWY 97, FROM AGRICULTURE (AG) TO AGRICULTURE RESIDENTIAL (AR); PROVIDING FOR A TITLE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments regarding a proposed Comprehensive Plan Amendment (LSA-2023-02), a large-scale amendment to the Comprehensive Plan Year 2030 Future Land Use Map, changing the future land use category of the parcel.

 

All interested parties may appear at the public hearings and be heard regarding the proposed Ordinance. A draft of the proposed Ordinance is available for review at the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, 221 Palafox Place, First Floor, Deputy Clerk’s Office, Suite 110, Pensacola, FL 32502 and the Escambia County Development Services Department, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola, FL 32505.

 

The Planning Board and the Board of County Commissioners do not make verbatim transcripts of their meetings; any person who wishes to appeal (to Circuit Court) any matter considered at such meetings or hearing will need to independently ensure preparation of a verbatim transcript of the proceeding that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Escambia County (BCC), Florida serving as the local governing board will consider adoption of the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 first year assessment rolls for the following Street Lighting, Holding Pond, Perdido Key Beach Mouse, and Nuisance Abatement Municipal Services Benefit Units (MSBUs) at a public hearing to be held at 5:02 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible on Tuesday, September 11, 2023 in the Chambers of the Board of County Commissioners, First Floor of the Escambia County Government Complex, 221 Palafox Place, Pensacola, Florida.

The Escambia County Tax Collector will collect these non-ad valorem special assessments. Non-payment of the non-ad valorem special assessments may result in the sale of tax deeds and loss of property.

 

All interested parties may appear at the public hearing and be heard with respect to the Assessment Roll.  All affected property owners may file written objections within 20 days of the publication of the notice.

ADJUSTMENT

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners wishes to inform the public of any changes in their respective Street Lighting Municipal Service Benefit Units (MSBU) for the fiscal year 2023-2024 budget.  MSBUs provide a mechanism to fund various benefits in the community tied to personal property. The purpose of the hearing is to approve and authorize, modify, or deny the request for the Development Services Department of Escambia County to issue an operational permit for resource extraction for Barth Sand Mine Borrow Pit.

All interested parties may appear at the public hearings and be heard regarding the proposed facility.

The Board of County Commissioners does not make verbatim transcripts of its meetings; any person who wishes to appeal (to Circuit Court) any matter considered at such meetings or hearing will need to independently ensure preparation of a verbatim transcript of the proceeding that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal will be based.
